Recreating a bar chart

This week I recreated a bar chart from El Diario on the increase in financial aid and extreme poverty in Spain. Raúl Sánchez participated in its creation.

Highlights

The first love of many: the bar chart. It's probably the type of chart I have been able to visualize the most. I'm glad I could add new features for the first time.

I was able to create a pattern with SVG so I could make a part of the bar stand out. Adjusting the path is a challenge, I couldn't get it to look how I wanted, but I liked the result.
I'm not sure if there is a correct way to do it, but I created two bar charts, one with the solid color and the other with the pattern, this one I put behind and smaller to avoid showing that they were overlapping. Could I have gotten the bar chart to start where the other one ended? Maybe, but I don't know, at the moment, if it's possible.
